Be sexy, don´t be stupid...

We, my graduation class and me almost worked the whole
week for our final .... graduating exhibition. Finally this friday
we made it! All in all we were around 50 students I guess.
Or more? I did not count. Since we were 3 different studios,
from 3 different teachers we had 3 different exhibitions.
One is in the 7.floor of building 8, one (ours) in the cafe
in b8 and the 3d one in Neili Nali. A small commune in Neili.

I am going to focus more on our project. Our class was really free.
We could do everything we wanted. The only point was...
In the end we had to print a book, booklet, magazine, Leporello etc...
Min. 3 examples. (I made just 3) ha ha. Our exhibition took place in
the nice cafe in b8 next to cafes book store. Actually its still there
until next friday. Thats why we called it ONE WEEK GALLERY makes
sense or?

My last semester prof + this semester prof.

This is the exhibition . Actually its a good idea to
held it here. Cause here more people can have a look at it.
Other places are not so crowed. Like the 7th floor for example.

Me explaining my project. We build up the wall
in the background and made small stands to present
our works! After all of that we had a graduation dinner.
At a fancy restaurant in Neili. Looking awful from the outside
but nice from the inside. Had a great time there.
Some got really emotional and it made me think about
my real graduation next year. Which I am looking forward to
but after that a great time comes to an end. Thats sad on hand
on the other life goes on. After that we went to Ktv and had
lots of fun :)

This is a small part of my booklet. I created a CIS for a
Japanese restaurant franchise. Of course fictional.

I am really happy with the final result. Although it
was a really hard job to print everything. In the end just
one of the 3 books look almost perfect. The print shop
fucked up the other ones. Its really a pain in the ass to
print a little more sophisticated stuff in Taiwan. The
shops are not really professional :(

Anyway I am the first time  90 % happy with one of my
projects and I have something to show. Thats what counts
most.

The teacher of this class is a Austrian born Chinese.
He can speak German fluent. One reason why I choose
this class. The other reason was. He is a really good teacher
with lots of experience. And gave us a lot of freedom in
our work also  a lot of tips and input. Thank you very much!

After creating this CIS I kind of feel like I want to change
my major from advertising to Branding Identity. I am simply
not creative enough for advertising. Lets see if it possible...

So I created the whole CIS for it. Half of the book
is missing here. Cause it s at the exhibition right now.
Here more pics of the other exhibitions.

My classmate "Frog" ha ha posing with my booklet.

Sexy advertising !!!!

Disturbed book.

While we build up the whole exhibition.

SO
If anyone is in Taiwan right now and interested in great works.
Feel free to have a look, drink a cup of coffee (best one in Taiwan)
or|and enjoy the awesome food in the Cafe|Restaurant next
to Caves bookstore at Yuan Ze Uni Building 8....

And remember: You may be stupid but act sexy!
I am not sure if it were exactly the same words my
teacher said but something similar.

Recently in Taiwan....

Its been a long long time since I posted an entry for
the last time. Why... I dont know actually nothing
super exciting happend. Why.... I dont know. Well at
least a little bit happened. This header shows a
celebration in Taipei for a god actually. It looks
more like love parade or something to me ha ha.
There were lots of cars with music and so on driving
around Taipei! Pretty crazy!

Fabyos birthday plus Championsleaque .
We celebrated and watched the match in a
foreigner bar in Taipei. On Tap! Some of
us freaked out because of the angry brits.
But nothing happend. Just some fools trying
to make truble but we simply did not pay
attention to them ;)

Anyway had a great time. We watched the match
at 2.45 am in the morning. Until 5 something.
Had lots of beers great!! Even though we lost -.-

At the same day we had a meeting with the
very nice students from the Goethe Institute
in Taipei. To talk a little german. Kind of.
Was good to see all of you again. Even though
your getting less and less . Looking
forward to our next maybe last meeting :(
So sad!

This was actually last  month. We were invited
to the Burberry Shop opening Party in Taipei
at Xinyi plaza right in front of Taipei 101. Was
a really great night. With lots of Champagne
beautiful people! Actually I dont know if it
was a shop opening or not. It was kind of an
experience. That was the show!

The event got a real Burberry feeling. It was raining
the whole day. A little bit like in great britain. But
actually thats nothing new to Taiwan -.-

Thanks to Ariel who got the invitations for us :)
We look stoned on this pic. Thanks to the photographer!

Good time in Trainhead. Cata trying to open up beer
bottles with a lighter for 30 minutes ...

Until she finally was lucky :)

Of course we went to Ktv afterwards until the early
morning. Someone told me I actually have a great voice :)
Ha ha i dont think so....

Search Ktv

Sketch class. We had no nude models. We were the models!

At Taipei Shih Chien University. has a great Design Department
and is under the 40 Best Design Universities worldwide.
I really like this place. Actually I asked in the International
Office about me studying my Masters degree there and
they said it shouldn't  be a problem even if my chinese sucks!
Ha ha. And a teacher of this school is writing me a letter
of recomendation. So I guess it is settled :) Yeah!

Me and some classmates were visiting an Architecture
exhibition. I am not so in to it actually. Not my major.
But really nice project. Afterwards meeting my last
semester teacher whos lab is close to it. He said something
which still makes me think. Artists( Designer, Architects, Performers,
Singers etc...) have the most difficult job in the world. Even more
difficult than doctors or so. Because we have to make the world
better, make it look better, improve it in many ways. This
is a fulltime job. And especially a hard thinking process. We have
to think all the time, during daytime, at the toilet even while
sleeping. I guess he is totally right. Since he said that
I am actually thinking the whole time about my projects.

Well at least yesterday I finally finished my graduation
project of the graduation class I am taking here
and I am quite happy with the result. Gonna upload some
pic at the weekend.

Not done yet with the german appointments. Yesterday
we had a dinner with the german students from YZU.
We went to a incredibly expensive German restaurant in
Taoyuan. 500 - 700 for one german dish. So we ate
pretzels with butter and liverpastete. Really good.
And beer -.- was a joke. 0.3 l bottle of awful Paulaner
Weissbier for 170 Nts 0.5l for 250 . Thats almost Wiesen price!
Crazy. I think the restaurant is gonna be broke soon.

But the interior design looked cool.I felt a little bit like
in Germany. Ha ha

Bah!

But we had a great time and thats what counts most!

So today a teacher from my department in Germany
visited YZU to held a speech and have a look at the
school and see us. We watched the speech...
Mobile experience. Really interesting + a little
slide show about the HSAugsburg. I was a little bit
disappointed cause there were not really lots of
students there. But considering we heard of the
speech one day before occasionally I guess thats why.

Afterwards we showed him around the campus. Every place.
Shared our experiences and went to dinner in Chungli.
All in all a nice day. I hope we did not scare him too much.
Guess he got a lot of information for one day! Ha ha

Over and out!

Monkey Business

Monkey Buisness... as it says we were a couple of monkeys
on this trip. Or acted a little like or felt like monkey in cage
of a zoo. Ha ha. Later more.

So still trying to escape the boredom in Neili we decided
spontaneously to do a weekend trip to Tainan and Alishan,
where none of us have been to so far. Actually i have no idea
who had the idea to go there ? Anyway at first it was just
us ze Germans for the first two days. 1 Girl and 4 Guys. Poor
Maggie. But I guess we behaved very well ;) Anyway we started
way too early in the morning to catch our train in Neili-Jhongli.

Where ... there was a bus supposed to take us directly to Tainan.
Ehhhhhhhh. Nope after asking around using my poor chinese,
we decided to call a friend to give us the address of the bus Company
in chinese Characters. EHHHHHHH... we do not drive to Tainan"
was their answer. Cool and now? Next door there was one driving
to Tainan. A luxury Bus. With massage chair and own tv and game
station.

After reaching Tainan around 2 pm we were first looking
for a hotel. Went to the tourist information centre at the
Main station. Helped us a lot. In the end we ended up
in Hotel Takatama (jap *_*) right at the Main station.
Was kind of nice. 1000 nts per person for 2 nights. 25€

Caution this blog entry consists of around 200 Pitures.
Yeah I am too lazy to sort them out. So it is easier for me to
just upload all of them. THis is a Wheelchair Scooterdriver :)
Madness

Ah and as usual the pictures are not in the right order cause
Blogger is to stupid to check the data of the pics. Anyway this
is An-ping a peninsula at the seashore of Tainan. It is/ was basically
an old Fort of the Dutchmen. There is the fort itself some temples
and a building called Tree House which is pretty cool.

Amazing trashcans everywhere! Kind of seldom.

This is a part of the Tree House. I heard that it is actually
haunted from a classmate. And actually it looks like. I would
not like to spend a night in there. Creepy. Anyway the
night before we already went there cause somebody
said there is a House in the top of the tree with a german
restaurant where we can drink german beer. So we were looking
for it and did not find it. Actually it is neither nor. Just to stupid to
read the Lonely planet properly....

Good setting for a Horror Movie. I like it.

I have to admit that i have no idea what this house is all about.
I did not read the information. Anyway there was a building
next to it with real looking "Wax"(maybe) figures about some
history. And I believe that one of them was moving!!! For real!

The area around is very touristic with lots of souvenir shops
And stand etc.....

Dancing?

This is the fort. its quite nice. Although it is actually kind of
far away from the seaside. So whats the point?

Ze Germans... just 5 of us this semester. Getting less and less.
4 from Augsburg and one from Ingolstadt.

A canon.

Sooooo faaaatttt

Thats the An-ping harbour. With Tainan in the bg.

Happy place!

Finally this day we managed to find the german restaurant.
It s name is Merchant something house. The sell "authentic"
german food and beer :) äh not!

Frankfurter Currysausage ... not

Actually very good fried fish!

Surprisingly cheap 160 Nts Erdinger Woiza. With icecubes.

This is actually called somethign Tower. To me it looks
like a temple.

This is the Tainan Garden/Flower nightmarket. Actually
we hesitated to go there cause we are kind of sick of
nightmarkets. Anyway we did not regret. It was the most
silent, peacful nighmarket I have ever been to. No annoying
people screaming loud. Nobody punching or ....
The only thing is that I guess Tainan in general ins definately
not used to young foreigners. We caught lots of looks.
Thats why I said we felt like monkeys in a cage. Anyway
this was a pleasant night-marked experience!!!!

So since the pictures are not in the right order. This
is Sunday on the way to Alishan. We meet up with 4 other
french friends from YZU. Starting in Chayi with annoying
people as hell who wanted us to take their taxis or private
shuttle busses up to the mountain. They even grabbed some
of us.

Our bus!

Close to the top, there is a limited range with restaurant,
most are expensive as fuck and i guess all dont really taste
well. So we had this Wildmountaindeer. Mhm yeah alright.
Nothing special.

So as soon as we arrived we heard that one of the train is
just going until the half of the mountain. The other one
is working but takes jsut 8 minutes. So we decided to walk.
Ah and by the way they Train staff has lunch break around
1pm. Which is exactly the time were most of the visitors arrive.
Really smart Taiwan. Again. -.-

I have to say the area there is really really great. lots of
interesting plants. Giant trees. Really nice. Except of
the hundrets of streets up there and the busses who drive
every minute through a " forest recreation area " which
might also be a national park. ???? Does it make any sense.

But its really great there. The whole place is packed with
tourists from China who do not hesitate to take pictures of
us "Monkeys in a cave" foreigners, even without asking.

So we decided to the same and take pictures of them!!!
He he he!

This is the japanese mountainrailway btw.

Bridge for only 6 ppl at a time. Guess chinese ppl
cannot read Chinese characters cause while we took the
pics groups of twenty ppl passed the bridge which was
starting to make wired sounds.

Tainan on the first day. Friday.

Ugly as shit!

So Felix, who is vegetarian read that there is a vegan
restaurant in Tainan. So we had to walk there of course.
Half an hour. Great weather. I like Tainan.

Playground of a school looks creepy.

So finally we managed to arrive at the " The Vegan" restaurant
Felix was really happy. :) This here is Vegan BBQ

This is Hungarian Stew. :) Does not taste at all hungarian.

Anyway we got a Salad, Main Dish, BBq sticks, somtehing like
Miso Soup and a dessert for 180 Nts each. Quite cheap.

This is the Confucius temple. What I like about Tainan,
you can walk everywhere. Since there is no Mrt its quite
hard to go by bus. Cause its takes a long time to wait.
So we walked around 15 km this day. I guess. The whole
way to An-ping as well. Sure it is easier to take scooters.
But why?

This is a bamboo construction around a house. For
construction workers I guess.

There are plenty of japanesque restaurants in Tainan.
But we never entered one :(

Weird finger!

And Tainan has a bar street. Tai´ an Rd.

And the passengers walks are shiny or flushy or Ah
dont know how to say that. Same as in Kaoshiung.

Looks a little like Ai he the love river in Kaoshiung.
I started to miss Kaoshiung a little.

Since there was no Restaurant in the Treehouse we
had no other choice than 7 11

IKUZNS

Thai Massage!

Since me and Maggie were the only once on this trip
who spoke at least a little bit chines it was mostly on us
to talk. ( I am a little bit proud) Anyway sometimes it
does not work well. This place sucks. The staff sucks.
They are inpolite and unfriendly and nobody should go there.
At least the food, which arrived was good. They forgot mine.
I asked them to make they said they dont have. We left.
They suck!

No clue where to go?

The end
