School, school, school, Party, Party, Taipei....

So the last week passed by so fast agian. I really would like to write entries more often but I simply have no time. And even no time to do my work for AnimePro .... puuuh
Because the homework for classes kill me here. I am really not used to this. Got lazy in germany. But in my opinion it is good to have homework every week. Because in Germany I did all my stuff in the last month. So what do I do here actually?
I picked 4 "design"courses and a mandarin|chinese beginners course.
1. Non objective painting: It is like art history combined with action. The first assignment is to draw a big size picture in a spontaneous  technique ... like Jackson Pollock for example.
2.Graphic Design. We kind of learn the basics I should already know :) I do. But there is still some new stuff to learn. At the end of the semester we have to build our own fictional Shop. And do the whole Corporate Identity system, flyer, poster, buisnesscards ...
This course I like the most. And the teacher asked me if I want to teach the students next time for 1 hour or so. But its more like a presentation than teaching :)
3. Design Studio. I picked this course out of mishap. The teacher told me that were are going to do a Ipad application so I took this course but actually were going to build a Ipad gadget. So a electronic device. :) Ya so I am kind of wrong. That was the first homework.
4. Course is Material Design. Another course  different to my german courses but still design ;) I think :(. As it is called it uses a lot of material.... äh ... äh.
The first assignment is to build an egg drop device out of paper. After the we are going to drop them from the 2cond floor. And the egg should stay intact. I think my egg drop is going to work but the teacher did not say that much.

For those who do not recognize. .. it is an elephant. The first homework was to build something, which is able to move without using electricity.
So my group decided to build a elephant. I had the idea to "sell" it like a kids toy. And the teacher really liked my idea. Although I did not really do much for this model. just the layout. My group mates did the most. Thanks again.
 So the trunk is moving!
By using this.... äh ..... äh sorry i forgot the english word :(
Cool isn´t it? So since we have to design I think I am not that wrong in this course. The next homework, I am working on actually is to make the elephant move without using human power.

For the final project. The Ipad gadget we are going to use this computer chip, called Adruino.(From italy) It is really, really hard for me to learn programming. I never ever did something like this bevore. But it is very exciting and interesting. And everyone is so kind and helps me a lot. Thank all of you :) Xie Xie :)

We are using Laser-cut to cut out models of paperboard or glass or plastic. And next to the laser-cut I found this gorgeous one. I love it. I really have to use it once. It is so big.

This is hoshi, or in chinese shin shin. Which means star. I already dropped it and it stayed intact. But I am not happy with the design so I am going to build a cooler one.

Thai style hot pot. Tom Yam Soup. Very delicious and the spiciest meal I ever ate in Taiwan so far. There is a huge food-court at the Campus with around. 15 restaurants at the same place. So every student can choose what he wants to eat. Not like in germany. Mensa uargh!!!!!
My malaysian friends ordered a traditional Malay dish at the local Malaysian restaurant.
It is called Nasi Lemak. But they said that it does not taste like real.

Sushi at the food court. 10 ntd§ per piece. So it is very very cheap.
Compared to germany. And they have like 50 different styles.
Btw I like to eat out of boxes.

So friday after material design class, John a friend of mine had his 21. birthday. Yeah I am the oldest one at my department.
Taiwanese start their studies at the age of 18. they do not have to do social service or army. :)
We went to a 99 dollar restaurant to eat trad. Taiwanese food.

This is the local bowling hall. And it is huge like the munich train station. It is insane. There is no mirror at the end ;) Bowling in taiwan counts like sport. Some of my friends have bowling classes :)

After that, we went to Lings flat to have a party :) Ah and I joined the local scooter gang :)

On saturday we went to the Taipei Zoo. It is said to be one of the biggest Zoos in Asia. Hm. It is ok but i have been to bigger ones before. So the taipei zoo is not build on a flat ground. NO!!!!! It is more like hiking. Up and down. :( almost killed me. Because I sleeped just 3 hours. Because of the birthday)

The most interesting animal for me was the Panda. Because I have never seen one before.

No this is not the Panda. This is an Arowana fish. They are very very expensive. Un affordable. Like a car. They stand for luck.
And it is like almost one meter long.
This is some special jungle plant. And it is huge and very rary. Although this one should be a fake, because normally they smell very bad because they are carnivore. Eat insects.
The asian elephant. I was doing some research for my design studio class.... Not! :)
After the whole Zoo action we took the cable car to go on top of a mountain to have a look at the Taipei Skyline. And there were the most ugly busses I have ever seen in my entire life. Eyecancer!!!!!!!! Be careful.
After the mountaineering me and Clausius separated from the actual group, because I wanted to have a drink. So we meet some friends of my department and went to the most popular nigh-market ( and most expensive) to have dinner and a beer.
After that we went to a life band.  Id call it a club but taiwanese say life music house. Ok OK. Anyway. It was really cool. We were invited because someone knew the Bandleader. I really like this place. This pic shows the entrance. Kind of underground club.

Second pic shows the inside. Not really crowded at time because it was just 9.30 pm. We were in kind of a hurry because we wanted to take the last train at around 11. But later on the club was clumsy and filled with people. Most of them foreigners because there was a foreign band playing...

So today was lazy day. I sleeped until 3 pm, caught a cold. Almost could not talk.( yesterday)
First we went to Korean style restaurant. I had mixed rice with Kimchi and meat and lots of stuff. They serve it in a freaking hot bowl, you are not allowed to  put your hand on.

And you have to mix the ingredients very fast.
Hao she!!!! So I tried to do my assignments for the next week but it really did not work well. And why because of facebook!!!!!! Ahhhhhh hat it sometimes.  Anyway we went to the Chung Yuan night-market to buy some art stuff for next weeks assignments.
Next to the Korean restaurant there was a ..... Cats-restaurant. I know that this exists in japan with dogs but I never believed to see one. So you can go there to have dinner and there are cats around you can touch and kuddle. In germany it would be closed in one minute. :)

  2. Nein Xin das geht doch echt nicht? Essen neben Katzen?
